Built by a builder.
Backbone is an indie product made for the contractors I grew up around — the ones who run a real business from the cab of a truck. It's the tool I wanted them to have. We're keeping it small, mobile-first, and priced like a small contractor should be priced.
What we believe
Field-service contractors got stuck with software built for someone else.
Big field-service platforms grew up serving 50-truck companies with full-time dispatchers and a back office. They charge accordingly — $189/mo, with AI and GPS and recurring plans gated behind even higher tiers. They run on a desktop and pretend the mobile app is enough.
Backbone is the opposite. A two-person shop deserves a real CRM too, and it should fit in a pocket. The whole product is built for one-handed use in bad light with gloves on. AI is included so the boring parts of the day handle themselves. Pricing is honest because it has to be — small contractors notice when you nickel-and-dime them.
